ADAC Formula 4: Carrie Schreiner stopped by illness on the Lausitzring

The 17-year old girl from Germany hasn't had the luck on her side in this Formula 4 season so far. At the first two events in Germany there were various collisions which weren't her fault and this time a heavy tonsillitis prevented possible good results. Only in the British Formula 4 in Thruxton Carrie had trouble-free race and was even able to reach place 4 and thus missed the podium by 0,25 seconds. There she could impressively prove her potential.

„From Monday to Wednesday I had to stay in bed with a high temperature of 40 degrees sometimes. On Thursday I was better again and therefore we drove to the Lausitzring though. On Friday during free practicing I was completely exhausted after half of the time already. After a break of some hours I tried it in again the qualifying, but had to give up after some rounds. My body was just too weak in order to be competitive. Afterwards my team US Racing cancelled me from the event.

Today, however, I feel much better and was already able to start with physical training again. At the next races in Oschersleben from 17th to 19th June I'll be top fit and competitive again!“, said Carrie Schreiner optimistic.
