Porsche Sports Cup: Carrie Schreiner writes history with her victory

At the guest start of Carrie Schreiner in the team of GetSpeed Performance in the Porsche Sports Cup on the Red Bull Ring (15 – 17 June 2018) the young female pilot writes history.

As the first woman ever, Carrie Schreiner won a race in the series! In the Porsche Super Sports Cup, the king’s class of the popular series with 46 starters, she won before the Austrian Sebastian Daum and Berkley Beser. “Of course, I am very happy and pleased that I could confirm the confidence team had in me. Many thanks to the Gigaspeed Team GetSpeed Performance and team manager Adam Osieka for the excellent prepared car and the chance to drive here”, said Carrie Schreiner happy about her success.

After the pole position, the 19-year old girl from Völklingen / Saarland in Germany was first leading. But after a safety-car-phase the field got together again and at the restart Sebastian Daum overtook her. However, after a hard, but fair duel, the race amazon regained her position and was the first who saw the chequered flag and thus even the first woman ever since the foundation of the Cup 2005.

Only one week after the victory in the DUNLOP 60, with a Audi R8 LMS GT3 of the team HCB Rutronik Racing on the Nürburgring, the young pilot could prove her class on the Red Bull Ring and celebrate her next success.

On the day after, another success. Together with her teammate and team manager Adam Osieka, she competed in the long-distance race, the Porsche Cup Endurance (twice 50 minutes). In the end the duo became second – only after the professional Klaus Bachler and his team mate Stanislav Minsky.

GetSpeed team manager Adam Osieka:” It’s always difficult to have a guest start and to believe in advance that you will be able to win. We are a long-distance race team and don’t have experience on sprint races. Therefore, the preparation is the most important thing in order to arrive sorted at the race. But everything worked perfectly, and Carrie did a very good job.”

The next start was on Monday already, when she sat in the simulator at Walter Penker. There she prepared for the start at the Lamborghini Super Trofeo Europe which takes place in the Italian Misano at the coming weekend (22nd – 24th June 2018). And afterwards the Italian week continues with the race weekend DMV GTC and DUNLOP 60 in Monza (29th/30th June 2018).
