International Italian GT Championship: Again, double podium for Carrie Schreiner

On the race track in Vallelunga near Rome, the girl from the Saarland, who has just turned 23, drove her best result in Italy so far. This time it was the third 3 h race of the Endurance Championship in 2021.

In a very tight qualifying where more than 25 drivers remained within a good second, the trio Schreiner / Roda / Fuoco achieved P7 in their AF Corse Ferrari 488 GT3.

Carrie drove the start, Giorgio Roda the second stint. Both were involved in tough duels with frequent contact but came through quite well despite two safety car phases and handed the Ferrari over to the final driver Antonio Fuoco on P5.
The Ferrari Formula 1 test driver gained another position after a perfect pit stop and re-joined the track lying on P4. He quickly overtook the Ferrari on position three and shortly afterwards also grabbed the former DTM Champion Bruno Spengler in the BMW and started to catch up with the leading Audi factory driver Mattia Drudi. Fuoco came closer and closer, but there was not enough time for an attack.

However, the three drivers of the Ferrari AF Corse factory team were very satisfied with their second place overall and the victory in the PRO/AM class: "Antonio was the fastest man in the entire field, but also Giorgio and I had laid a good basis for the podium beforehand. My season started a bit tough this year and also with a lot of bad luck. But now this was my eighth! podium in the Italian GT Championship and in the GTC Race in a row. So, there is no reason to complain!" said a happy Carrie Schreiner after the race.
