Porsche Sports Cup Endurance: Podium for Carrie Schreiner

In midsummer temperatures, 36 Porsche cars started the second round of the Sports Cup Endurance Challenge (23/24 July 2022) on the traditional Red Bull Ring in Austria.

Among them were about 25 GT3 Cup models with almost the same racing speed. In addition to the usual Cup specialists, there were also some current and former ADAC GT Masters pilots on the grid. Among them also Carrie Schreiner, who again shared the 992 Cup of Team Plusline Racing by Peter Terting with the fast Bronze driver, Lars Joosten.

Already in the qualifying it was very crowded, and one could expect an exciting race of almost two hours. And so it was, especially from positions four to ten there was a hard fight until the very end. In the end, Carrie and Lars placed fifth overall and P3 in the 992 Cup class with the strongest field.

The 23-year-old driver from the Saarland was very satisfied after the heat race: "We were both constantly involved in duels from the beginning to the end, you couldn't take it easy for a second. But it was great fun, because you can overtake well on the Red Bull Ring. I'm getting more and more comfortable with the Cup Porsche, so I'm very optimistic for the remaining three events in the series."

Next race for Carrie Schreiner is next weekend on the Nürburgring (29-31 July 2022). There she will start again in the GTC race in the Mercedes-AMG GT3.
