NLS4: Very successful debut of Carrie Schreiner and Peter Terting on the Nürburgring Nordschleife in the Mercedes AMG GT3

Without any special preparation Carrie and Peter tackled the 4h race of the Nürburgring Endurance Series. As it had rained at the beginning of the free practice session on Friday afternoon, both were only able to complete three laps each in dry weather conditions in order to get familiar with the new car.

Nevertheless, the experienced racing professional Peter Terting set the eighth fastest lap time in qualifying on Saturday morning and only narrowly missed the eight-minute sound barrier. Starting from position 8 on the grid, he also drove the first stint and handed over to his team-mate after about an hour.

After about another hour, Peter took over for the third stint and Carrie then drove the last turn again. Both of them continuously increased their lap times, drove a flawless race and improved to a strong sixth place overall after a little more than 4 hours. So, the whole Mercedes AMG Team "Schnitzelalm Racing" was also very satisfied with the performance of their two drivers.

Carrie was also highly satisfied: "Considering the circumstances, it went almost perfectly. We were thrown in at the deep end and have steadily improved. I am convinced that we can improve even more at the 6h race on 8/9 July, because we both still have a lot of potential for improvement! Two days before the event I had cracked a rib during weight training, and it was not sure if I would be able to take part in the race at all. Luckily it worked and the pain was limited," said the relieved 23-year-old from the Saarland.
