Carrie Schreiner eagerly awaits the start of the season

After an intensive preparation programme with 5 race events and 6 test days in January and February, things are getting serious for the 25-year-old from Saarland from 7 - 9 March. The first two races of the F1 Academy will take place in Jeddah/Saudi Arabia as part of the Formula 1 supporting programme. Next weekend, Carrie will compete once again in the Formula Winter Cup at the Motorland Aragon in Spain, before travelling directly from Barcelona to Jeddah on Monday then.

"I've never been in a race car as often as I have in the last two months. Unfortunately, I had a persistent corona illness after Christmas, which made my physical preparation for the season very difficult. But now I'm back in good shape and feeling well," said the Sauber F1 Junior driver.

"Under these circumstances, it was very tough to compete against the best boys in the formula car in Abu Dhabi, Dubai and Jerez. I had ups and downs, but I have learnt a lot. We already had three days of testing with the F1 Academy in Jeddah last week. It's a very fast and difficult street circuit and yet 15 of the 16 drivers were within a second. This proves that the series has become even stronger, just as it was expected. It's difficult for me to make a prediction, everything is possible!

First of all, I want to show another good performance this weekend in Aragon and then I'll travel to Jeddah with optimism. Thanks again to Sauber F1 and all my other sponsors for making all this possible for me!" says Carrie Schreiner, eagerly awaiting the start of the season.
