GT World Challenge Europe: Carrie Schreiner starts in top GT3 series
Carrie will compete in the GT World Challenge Europe in 2026. The series represents the top level of international GT3 championships and is organized by SRO (Stéphane Ratel Organisation). It consists of two separate cups, which together comprise the 2026 season. The first is the Endurance Cup, a long-distance championship with races of varying lengths and usually three drivers per car. The other format is the Sprint Cup, with two one-hour races per weekend and two drivers per car.
Since the founding of the SRO Motorsport Group in 1995 by Frenchman Stéphane Ratel, the organization has developed into the world's largest platform in GT3 racing. The GT World Challenge Europe is considered the premier GT3 championship in Europe and ranks among the highest levels of GT3 racing worldwide. The participation of numerous car manufacturers underscores this prestige. The drivers are a diverse mix, including amateurs, semi-professionals, and professional factory drivers.
Race Weekend Formats
This season's Sprint Cup includes events at Brands Hatch, Misano, Magny-Cours, Zandvoort and Barcelona.
The Endurance Cup comprises the race weekends at Le Castellet (Circuit Paul Ricard), starting with a 6-hour race. This is followed by a 3-hour race at the high-speed Monza circuit. The highlight is the 24 Hours of Spa-Francorchamps, followed by the 3-hour race at the Nürburgring and the 3-hour race at Portimão to conclude the season.
Carrie's Team
Carrie will compete for the Tresor Attempto Racing factory team. The team, led by team principal Arkin Aka, has been a regular participant in the GT World Challenge for several years and secured a class victory in the Silver Cup standings at the Barcelona Endurance Race in the 2025 season. They also achieved several top-ten finishes in a highly competitive field.
The Car
The 27-year-old, a native of Saarland, will start the season driving an Audi R8 LMS GT3 Evo II. The car will continue to be factory-supported.
Driver Classifications
Drivers in the GT World Challenge Europe are classified according to the official FIA driver classification system. The classifications are determined annually by the FIA, the governing body of motorsport, based on results, achievements, and age. Each driver is assigned to one of four categories: Platinum, Gold, Silver, and Bronze.
The classification of drivers in the GT World Challenge Europe is based on the official FIA driver classification system. The class assignments are determined by Pro (usually a Platinum and Gold driver combination), Gold Cup, Silver Cup, Bronze Cup (a Bronze driver is confirmed here), and Pro-Am (a combination of a professional driver and a Bronze driver).
Carrie's teammates will be announced later.
Vehicle Classifications
Every vehicle must have FIA GT3 homologation. Classification is determined by the Balance of Performance (BoP) and is a recurring topic of discussion. The different vehicle concepts must be brought to a comparable performance level. This is primarily achieved through weight and the air restrictor or boost pressure.
Classifications are determined before each race weekend and can be adjusted.
Carrie's season starts on April 12, 2026, at the Circuit Paul Ricard near the southern French town of Le Castellet. The season kicks off with a 6-hour race.
